Fat Rose and Squeaky

A movie about friendship

An unusual movie dealing with the dignity, battles & frienship of two aging women, Academy Award Winner Louise Fletcher and Cicely Tyson.

A Social Website for Sharing Your Thoughts About Aging

Fat Rose and Squeaky is a movie about aging. We believe its messaging can be a catalyst for raising the awareness of our growing population of elderly women without family who are trying to cope with a world they may not understand anymore. Our goal is to build a community of not only fans of the film and its messaging, but more over to build a community of change agents who can provide the needed love, understanding and care for our seniors.

2010 and Where's Our Film?

A question I get as of late from some of our very brave investors (family/friends/partners/me) who are wondering when they will see a return on the film is: "So what's up with our film?" Good question for all of us who backed this movie both financially, and creatively.

In 2009, we separated the distribution rights for "Fat Rose and Squeaky" away from our initial US distributor (Hannover House) because they did not live up to what they said there were going to do in selling…

Conquering the Darkness of Alzheimers

Last Thursday, July 9th, 2009, Fat Rose and Squeaky played on the big screen as part of an initial fund raising event for the Northern California Alzheimer Assocaition's upcoming "Memory Walk." About 200+ people struggled with parking issues in Downtown San Jose, but they made their way to Camera 12.

The reception was awesome with all of the attendees being able to watch the subsequent screening of the movie on a full stomach. It's always great to see the movie up on the big screen… Continue

As the writer and producer I always knew "Fat Rose and Squeaky" was a niche kind of film with niche being defined as a small target audience, and I felt really… Continue

Finally out for the world to view.

10 years ago my wife and I set out to chronicle the plight of elderly women without families in our country today. If they are lucky, they network together to try to better deal with a world they may not understand anymore. If they are unlucky, then their fates can be grim.

In the beginning, "Fat Rose and Squeaky" was a three act play with an East Coast premiere just outside of Washington, DC and a West Coast premiere here in San Jose at the San Jose Stage. Thankfully a ton of… Continue
